Lancelot was raised by the Lady of the Lake.
That is what legend gives us. I expanded upon Sir Lancelot's upbringing and young adulthood in an RPG, now finished, and here is a painting that I think captures the heart of my little pet project: reflection, romance, knightly duels, and the making of a hero and the sometimes oppressive mothering of the elegant Lady Vivienne... who happens to be green.
