Assignment based on a hypothetical article about robot robin toys on sale in Japan. It's supposed to be for a bird watcher's magazine, so I emphasized the natural features of the Japanese robin, instead of designing a product as it would actually look. Watercolor, colored pencil and gouache.

You may not use this artwork in any form unless you have my permission. If you wish to use it as a tattoo, I must be paid a creative fee. This image is copyrighted.

i would LOVE to have this as a tattoo..how much is the creative fee? and has anyone else requested it as a tattoo?...i would love to get it but not if 20 bajillion ppl have it :)))

I do mind if you get a tattoo. I should be compensated for the use of my artwork, even in a tattoo. Do not get it unless you plan to pay me a creative fee.

This image brings so many ideas and emotions to mind, the melancholy colours and the mix of the natural world robin with the precision of manmade clockwork are two things that shouldn’t co-exist but somehow they seem to work here.
